A groundhog (also known as a woodchuck) wakes from its hibernation. This groundhog looks as if he/she were saying, “Hello World! I’m telling ya this world is so so bright. Anyways, it’s been a long winter, hasn’t it? To be honest with ya, I’m fed up with staying in the underground den”. This guy’s body length is around 60 cm. As you can see, it has short legs and short ears. However, they are much quicker than they appear. Groundhogs are one of the few animals that really hibernate. They are also an herbivore. I believe groundhogs are gentle and shy. This pic was shot at Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden & Bird Sanctuary, Minneapolis, MN, 060409 posted: 060418, modified: 060420
