As of March 31, 2015: "The Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden and Bird Sanctuary will open for its 108th season on Wednesday, April 1.
The snow trillium and skunk cabbage have just started to bloom and the golden-crowned kinglets* and yellow-rumped warblers** have returned.
Sure signs of spring are all around us now, welcoming in another season of splendor at the Wildflower Garden."

8792 150321  Birding Walk  March 21, 2015  One of our staff members join Craig, a naturalist for his birding walk again. It was a very chilly morning. 
Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge
Ring-billed Gulls, Herring Gulls, Trumpeter Swans, Sandhill Cranes, Canada Geese, Lesser Scaup, Red-winged Blackbirds (calls),
American Tree Sparrows, Bald Eagles, one of the parents sitting in the bald eagle nest, a Hairy Woodpecker, a Red-bellied Woodpecker,
Mallards, Common Mergansers, Buffleheads, Goldeneyes, Gadwalls, a Pileated Woodpecker,
mouse (?)  tracks in the mud

One of our stuff members joined Craig (Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge) for his birding walk.
What they spotted during Craig's walk:  a Bald Eagle in flight, a Bald Eagle nest, a Pileated Woodpecker, Northern Flickers, Mallards,
Canada Geese (calls), American Black Ducks, Northern Shovelers, Lesser Scaup, a female Greater Scaup (his first), a Hooded Merganser,
Common Mergansers, Northern Cardinals (spring calls), Chickadees (spring calls), American Tree Sparrows, American Robins (calls),
an American Goldfinch, Woodpecker drumming

A Bald Eagle nest, and the parents (calls) perching on nearby branches, a European Starling (calls)
Red-tailed Hawks, Rock Pigeons

Dodge Nature Center: Turkeys, Chickadees (calls); Educational birds: a Bald Eagle, Red-tailed Hawk, and Barred Owl.

We saw a Snowy Owl at the Maple Grove Mall with the help of Pete.
