April 17, 2017:  Sunny    T= around 56 F (13 C)    "A Lovely Spring Day!"    Chickadees (spring calls), Crows, Canada Geese, a Wood Duck pair (flew away while making calls as we approached), a Horned Grebe (breeding adult), some ducks (too far to identify), a Red-winged Blackbird, Ring-billed Gulls, a male Bufflehead, Egrets fishing, Mallards, a Blue-winged Teal pair, a small Hawk (unidentified because it flew away), a female Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Yellow-rumped Warblers^ (calls): our first warbler of the season, Eastern Phoebes: one is busy catching insects, Robin's calls, Red-bellied Woodpecker calls, a Double-crested Cormorant flying overhead, Rock Pigeons, a Blue Heron flying overhead around 8:15 p.m. at dusk to get back to its rookery. (Hope he/she isn't hungry.), Bird calls become louder as the breeding season begins.
