Photo 2 Here is another pic
of the caterpillar, which Melanie spotted this caterpillar during Tammy's
early morning birding walk. This pic was taken at Eloise Butler Wildflower
Garden and Bird Sanctuary, Minneapolis, MN on October 8, 2011. This caterpillar
is about 1-1/4 inches (3 cm) long. Yup, this caterpillar looks as if it were alive. A little
later, however, we were aware of the fact that the caterpillar was dead.
Naturalists Christine and Julia helped us identify this caterpillar. We thought
they're saying, "This could be a 'Fall Webworm Moth caterpillar'." We might have
heard wrong. We'll ask them the possible name of this caterpillar again. Please
check back later. |
