Photo 1b A male
Bobolink is making calls (Up-Close). We saw around
10 male bobolinks, but no females. Bobolinks are ground nesters.
Bobolinks nest in hayfields and
meadows*.
The
name "Bobolink" comes
from its song,
"bob-o-link"*. This pic was shot during Matt's Walk for the Curious:
Bobolinks and Meadowlarks, w/ naturalists Julie and Karen at
Arboretum,
Chaska, Minnesota on June 13, 2012. For more info on Bobolinks, click
here (All About Birds, Cornell). 体長：15-21 cm
Roger Tory Peterson was inspired to
describe the male Bobolink as wearing a backward tuxedo.
